María Paz Cerda studied law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and holds a master’s degree in Commercial and Corporate Law (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK). Since 2018, she has served as Vice-President Legal Affairs at AES Gener. She was previously General Manager of MPX Chile Holding Ltda. (the developer of the Castilla power plant and port), where she also served as Legal Manager, and has worked as a lawyer at the Carey y Cía., Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana and Baker & McKenzie law firms. She is currently a director of subsidiaries of AES Corporation and AES Gener in both Chile and other South American countries and has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Chile’s energy sector and as one of Chile’s 100 women leaders.
